Any automotive vehicle paint technician that takes pride in his/her skill and professionalism will go the extra mile to ensure that their colour-matching is first class. Even with modern automotive paint systems and their extremely accurate computerised mixing methods, the human eye can pick when a colour match is not just “right”. This can be compounded with SMART (Small to Medium Area Repair Technology) repairs where the small amount of paint mixed makes the likelihood of a poor colour match much more common. Power-TEC, the specialist bodyshop equipment supplier, has just introduced this new SMART daylight lamp (part number 92493) which is specifically designed for these small and medium repairs and offers a soft, cool white, artificial daylight. The LED light panel consumes just 48 watts but gives a light output equal to 200 watt incandescent.

The unit is compact, with a panel size of 595mm x 595mm x 10mm, and is mounted on a wide-based stand for stability. The stand is mounted on four casters (two are braked) and the panel arm can be adjusted through 90° to suit the job in hand. The light panel is also height-adjustable.
